As per Ramayana, Ayodhya was located near Saryu river in Uttar Pradesh.

This kingdom of Ayodhya was established by Manu, the son of Brahma.

Entire city was paved with long and wide roads.

Streets were regularly washed with water and decorated with flowers.

The city had a big arch gateway for entrance in the city.

Ayodhya was well protected by a fort and a moat.

The city also had trade relations with hundred of other cities.

Ayodhya was only next to Amravati, the city of gods.
